Contract Amount: $15,400,000.00

The Illinois Center College Cougarplex project consists of a 50,000 SF new fitness center and sports complex as well as remodeling an additional 10,000 SF of the existing Lorene Ramsey Gymnasium. This project more than double the size of the current facility. A partial two-story structure, the building has a steel framework and is enclosed with masonry, composite wall panels, metal siding, and aluminum window wall and glass.

The facility includes:

  • Gymnasium large enough to fit three full-sized basketball courts
  • Balcony running track
  • Exercise space
  • Classrooms
  • Offices
  • Locker rooms
  • Area for child daycare

Part of the structure incorporated “green roof” technology with a planted rooftop. Other energy conversation practices were integrated throughout the building. The project is expected to earn a Silver LEED certification. Renovation of the softball and baseball fields and development of a new soccer field were also associated with this project.
