GoingGreen

In the United States and in a number of other countries around the world, LEED certification is the recognized standard for measuring building sustainability. Achieving LEED certification is the best way for you to demonstrate that your building is truly “green.”

One of the first projects we were involved in committed to a “Green Design” was Cuba middle-Senior High School in 2004. Every effort was made to incorporate as many elements of energy efficiency and renewable energy as possible into the construction of the building. The facility is heated and cooled by 120 (180 ft. deep) geothermal wells. A 60 KW Photovoltaic system is used to create electricity from solar power.

We have completed one LEED certification project, the Multi-Culture Center at Western Illinois University and have another under construction, a 15.5 million dollar COUGARPLEX at Illinois Central College. Both of these projects required LEED certification with LEED green building rating system responsibility. We have several project managers who are LEED accredited professionals who have attended classes and demonstrated knowledge of green building and the LEED rating and process systems. The LEED Certification is the coming process and LCI is on the cutting edge.
